As a result of last year’s brilliant Burscough Community Day, Martland Mill were delighted to play a part once again on Wednesday 15th July 2015.

Martland Mill welcomed nine groups of children into the Mill where they were given a talk by The Burscough Parish Council and Joanne Simpson & Rob from Evolve Property Group with some information about Martland Mill from Sue on reception.

Because of this special day organised by Joanna Marshall of St John the Baptist Church, the young people of Burscough will be more aware of the businesses, charities and organisations that exist in the community of Burscough. 

As we continue to promote Burscough as a thriving community with plenty of things for people of all ages to be involved in, the children will recognise the amount of businesses and organisations which are right on their doorstep.

Each group had 10-12 students and a teacher with them, where they listened to the speakers explaining to the students what their business /organisation did and how that adds to the community of Burscough, and also how students may follow in their footsteps if they wanted to become involved and have a career in the same area.  There was also an opportunity for the students to ask any questions.

All in all it was a great day for the students and for Burscough and also a pleasure for Martland Mill to receive these visitors.
